Anyone can buy a person a gift, but not everyone is so willing to gift a person a piece of their own heart.... simply because that is who they are. A gift for a gift... what is it that you would gift? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ October 6, 2010 Life's little Gifts... One of my customers came in recently very upset. I call her "Grandma". She's honest, says what she feels and is a very strong willed woman. She reminds me so much of my own Grandmother. She lost a ring that she had had for over 20 years. She looked everywhere for it but couldn't find it. She tried to wear another one that she had at home but her finger swelled up because it was too small for her. She said to me "I know it's going to sound funny but I feel naked without my ring". It didn't because I know that feeling if I have certain pieces of my own jewelry off. They have such meaning to me that they have become "a part of me". She felt the same way. Only a day or two before she came in I had thought to myself that one of my rings needed a new home. It was time. This silver band fit her finger perfectly. I watched her as she put it on. Her heart lit up and her eyes filled up with tears. She hesitated on taking the ring from me. I told her that she would always have a little piece of me with her by wearing this ring. That no matter what was going on in her life she would know how much she is loved. She accepted my gift. Grandma has come in and vented about what was bothering her, has cried with me and laughed with me. And she just flew in my front door bringing a 'gift for a gift'! Because she knows my faith is so strong she brought me a medal of Mary. It is one of those that you get in the mail, but it was given from her heart. So my morning was just filled up with hugs, a beautiful gift and love. What an awesome way to start the day! A true gift! She has taught me how important it is to share what we feel no matter what. She lives the concept 'we only have this moment' and even that isn't guaranteed to us. She has reinforced what my own Grandmother taught me so many years ago. I love this woman dearly for all she brings into this world, but even more so simply because of who she is. So many of you have touched my life... some very deeply. All of you have made a difference. I offer to each of you my gift of friendship, hope and love. Not because of what you have given me, but because of who you are right this very minute. May you be graced with gifts that bring joy to your heart, lift your spirit and that feed your soul. Many Hugs Dawn Originally Posted 10-16-17

So many of you have touched upon my dreams, have shared within my dreams and clarified my dreams for me. What I used to dream of creating has since vanished from my life. Now my dreams are my reality...moment by moment. There is only one dream that I hold dear... to live what resides within my heart... to live my truth. Each of you that touches my life enables me to do this. You offer me opportunities to simply be me. How awesome life is when we can live authentically. When we can live from within our hearts. The Truth of Dreams... Look past this flesh look deep within can you see Who I am? Open your hand and touch my heart. Share in this moment... this is where dreams come from, there is no better place to start. Know this is real, this is my truth. This is who I am. This is my dream come true. This is my dream I choose to share with you. created by Dawn Kiss copyright October 2010 I ask you please to find your dream within yourself. Share it openly with everyone around you. September 30, 2010 This time of year brings endings, beginnings and much beauty to us. Our busy summer season has come to a final close. Life is much quieter now... much slower from the tourist season. Yet school has started back in and that has thrown some lives into chaos with the start of after school activities. So as one door closes another one opens. It is so important not to get lost in the chaos. It is equally important to consciously stop the rat race and pay attention to what is happening around us. We all get caught up in life from time to time. This is only human nature. However we can not allow ourselves to get lost in this space. We have a responsibility to ourselves and our children to pay attention to the needs of our Earth Mother. She is not an unlimited supply. It is possible to over use her resources. The same as it is possible to drain a human body by over extending one's self in their activities. We have become a "throw a way" society. This must stop. If we do not start to live more responsibly we will wind up choking ourselves on our own garbage. Recycling is a start. Conserving water and all other utilities is a plus. Using paper or cloth bags instead of plastic helps. There are so many "little things" that one can do to make a difference that are easy and will fit right into their lifestyle. Think about your children and what they will have or not have when they get to be your age. Think about their children and what they may not be able to have because of our waste now. Start now to reach out to their little souls before they are even born. Love them before they are here. This is the season when the leaves start to change and there is beauty everywhere. How many will drive to work thinking about all the things that need to be done once they leave work, before they even really start their day? How many of them will completely miss the beauty of nature? How many will take for granted the ground they walk on or the air they breathe? How many will miss out on so much of life because they have become accustomed to surface living? Elderkin As the leaves shed their summer skin their coloring becomes akin to the emotions of a long days end... to the relief that it will send. The great Oaks look for rest, to settle in among the rest, to watch over the fields for wheat that are nestled around their strong rooted feet. These Grandparents to us all take great pride come each Fall. They stretch their arms and drop their leaves They tug at our hearts and our imagination tease. These are the Wisdom Keepers standing proud and tall. They've been here for centuries... they have seen it all. Look within their beauty deep, notice how your soul does weep to gather this knowledge and gently keep... the secrets that could set this world free, the secrets that are here for you and me. Grandmother Oak whispers her song while her leaves are swaying, rustling along. She tells of a time when we could feel her thoughts, when there was peace in our hearts and we did what we ought. Grandfather Oak speaks so much louder. He stands so tall, so magnificent and proud. His words are strong and go straight to our core... "Your minds ... your hearts ... they must be pure!" Our Grandparents remind us that we are simply a piece, a tiny little piece, to say the very least... of a web so complex that we could get lost... We could lose our own roots to our Earth Mother... at a very high cost. So as you take in the beauty of this magical season Stop and think that there must be a reason... that the Grandparents... the Guardians... are reaching out so much. They are saying their future is in our hands... it is up to us to nurture and love all that we see, for if we don't ..... all of us will no longer be. What we do to ourselves we do to the rest, let our hearts guide us to do our best. These Guardians can teach us so very, very much. Open your hearts and accept them.... to them we must trust that our futures are guided if we will only hear their whispers of knowledge to take away our fear. For without the fear of the ego's voice... our sight becomes clear and our eyes so moist from the pain all around us... in all that we see. It is then that we realize who we must be. The caretakers of the Guardians... our Grandparents dear. It is then that we live with love in our hearts... no longer in fear. Created by: Dawn Ellen Copyright October 2, 2007 Enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. Enjoy life and give freely back to our Earth Mother who gives so freely to you. This is a magical season of colors and transitions from leaves whispering to a season of silence. Enjoy the magic. Enjoy the whispering. Enjoy the being alive... for every step matters and every breath counts. To all of you... to our children... to our children's children... Many Hugs, Dawn |
